William Herbert "Bill" Reichenbach, 90, of North Vernon died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Majestic Care.
Family and friends may call Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the Park Theatre Civic Centre in North Vernon, Indiana from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Private family graveside services will follow at Tea Creek Baptist Cemetery in Lovett. Rev. Richard Burcham will officiate. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service was entrusted with the care of these arrangements. The family requests that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be followed.
Mr. Reichenbach was a 1948 graduate of Anchorage High School in Anchorage, Kentucky and a 1952 graduate of the University of Kentucky, where he earned a degree in agriculture. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve and had worked 37 years for Soil Conservation Service as the Area Conservationist for Southeastern Indiana before retiring in 1989. Mr. Reichenbach was a board member of the Jennings County Players and served on the board of the Park Theatre Civic Centre. He was also a member of First Baptist Church and Soil Conservation Society of America. Mr. Reichenbach was a Kentucky Colonel and was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash. He enjoyed golfing and loved to spend time at the Park Theatre seeing to its daily operations.
Born November 18, 1929, in Middletown, Kentucky, Mr. Reichenbach was the son of Herman and Lena Leunberger Reichenbach. He married Hulda Mae Hans August 2, 1974, at First Baptist Church in North Vernon and she preceded him in death December 13, 2014.
Survivors include his children, Peter "Hob" (Mary Beth) Reichenbach of
Chicago, Illinois and Sally Scott DiLaura of Louisville, Kentucky; stepchildren, Michael and Diana Marshall, and Patty (Bruce Johnson) Yount, all of North Vernon; sister, MayBelle Reichenbach of Middletown, Kentucky; grandchildren, Andrew, Grant, and Christian Reichenbach, all of Chicago, Illinois; step-grandchildren, Robb (Martin Gregory Yount) Yount Gregory of Sacramento, California, Amanda Yount Nott, and Jessica Marshall, both of Columbus, Annie (B.J.) Bingham, Lucy Goins, and Allison Bowling, all of North Vernon, Bernie (Natalie) Marshall of Tampa, Florida, Chris Marshall of New York City, New York, and Trey Goins of Texas; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Reichenbach was preceded in death by his parents; wife; stepson, Robert Marshall; brother, Raymond Reichenbach; sisters, Helen Testa, Ruth Klingenfus, and Doris Jean Bell; and a step-great-grandchild, Forrest Rice.
