Lawrence Louis Booker, 24, of Dunbar, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at CAMC – General Division.

He had been a member of Ferguson Baptist Church for 16 years and graduated from Capital High School where he played on the championship teams of 2000 and 2001. Lawrence attended Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia and Clafin University, Orangeburg, SC where he was a member of the basketball teams.

Surviving are his son, Larell Williams of Virginia; parents, Joseph H. Booker of Charleston and Vicki Pleasant of Charleston; half brothers, Joey Bryan of St. Albans and Korday Booker of Dunbar; half sisters, Jameka Bryan of St. Albans and Kourtney Booker of Dunbar; grandmothers, Oretha Pleasant of Dunbar and Mary L. “Pudgie” Booker of South Charleston; great grandmother, Ruth Booker of South Charleston; uncles, Reginald Lee Pleasant, Jr. and his wife, Sheila of Louisville, Ky, Ronald Pleasant of Dunbar, Charles Booker, Jr. and wife, Cheryl of Michigan, Jeffrey Booker of Cross Lanes and James Booker of Dunbar; aunts, Karen Booker and husband, Michael of Charleston, Mary Libby Booker of Charleston, very very special uncle John “Red” Booker and wife Cheryl, very very special aunt, Sandi Greenhowe and husband, Laymon of South Charleston; special cousin, Natasha Duckwyler of Dunbar. Mr. Booker is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and friends who mourn their loss.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 20, at Spring Hill Cemetery of Charleston. There will be no visitation.
