He was born January 9, 2012 in Cookeville to Brian and Caren Fuller Bates. Tyler had a great love for life and found joy in all that surrounded him. He was a second grade student at Jere Whitson Elementary School. Tyler’s kind heart touched all that knew him and his strength encouraged them. He was an exemplary son and the best little brother a sister could ever ask for.
In addition to his parents, Tyler's family includes his sister, Leeah Bates; paternal grandmother, Linda Bates of Church Hill, TN; maternal grandmother Glenna Fuller of Mt. Carmel, TN; aunts, Carole Fuller of Mt Carmel, and Susan Bates of Church Hill; and uncle, David (Reva) Bates of Church Hill.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Charles Fuller; and paternal grandfather, Lee Bates.
Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Friday September 27 at Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Chaplain Amanda Borchik and Pastor Mark Gaw will officiate. Tyler's family will receive friends Friday from 4 p.m. until the service begins at the church.
