LA PORTE -- Clemens Stephen Levendoski, 94, of Fountainview Terrace Nursing Center, formerly of 5672 W. Indiana 2, died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday in the nursing home. Mr. Levendoski retired as manager of Pinola Elevator after 45 years of service. He was born Sept. 2, 1899, in La Porte County and was a lifelong resident. On June 16, 1928, in La Porte, he married Luella P. Fritz. She died Jan. 20, 1981. Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Thompson of La Porte; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Graw of Lakeview, Ore.; and two brothers, John and Roman, both of La Porte. A son, Stephen Levendoski, preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Scipio Township Farm Bureau and Pinola Grange 2204.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Essling Funeral Home. Burial will be in Door Village Cemetery, Door Village. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
