Mrs. Allene V. (Huggins) Murphy, 25 Pleasant St., formerly of Hanover Street, died suddenly Friday at home. She was the wife of John T. Murphy Sr., with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Born in Portsmouth, N.H., the daughter of the late Samual and Gladys (Bassett) Huggins, she attended school in California and lived in Lynn the past 50 years.
She also leaves two sons, William J. Murphy of Saugus and John T. Murphy Jr. of Lynn; three daughters, Geraldine McElligott and Colleen Raiche, both of Lynn, and Allene Murphy of Dorchester; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Catherine M. Murphy, who died May 28.
The funeral will be Monday at 8 a.m. from Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
