Diane was born on Dec. 20, 1960, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota., and raised in Hayward, California. At age 15, she met her high school sweetheart, Clint Welch. After marrying at age 20, they began their future together in Alameda, California. In 1995 they settled in Sparks, Nevada.
She founded the very successful Nevada Parent Magazine in an effort to bring the respect and togetherness she, Clint and their children cherished to other families.
She is survived by her husband, Clint, and their children, Jessica, Cassandra and Clint III of Sparks; her parents, Deitrich and Harriet Warkentin of California; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Fullingim and sister-in-law, Debra Welch, both of Sonoma, Calif.; brothers Dean, Marlin, Dennis and Paul; sister Nancy; sister and brother-in-law Colleen and Morris Fix; and nephews and nieces Matt, Margaret, Kyle, Ryan and Shannon Fix.
