Kermit Kaiser dies at 78

Kermit H. Kaiser, 78, of 1862 Brooksedge in Germantown, died yesterday morning at St. Francis Hospital.
He was retired vice president and sales manager of the school division of Tayloe Paper Co.
He was born in Lilly, S.D. and was a graduate of the University and was a graduate of the University of Northern Iown.
A Memphian since 1928, Mr. Kaiser was a chairman of the board, finance chairman and lay leader at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, past president of the East Memphis Kiwanis Club, a charter member of the Better Schools Committee, a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce and National Chamber of Commerce.
He also was a member of the Memphis Gavel Club and the National Association of Visual Education Dealers and president and regional director of the National School Supplies and Equipment Association.
He helped establish audiovisual departments at the University of Mississippi, Arkansas State University and Memphis State University.
He also farmed in Canaan, Miss.
Mr. Kaiser leaves his wife, Mrs. Blanche Kaiser; a son, Ker,it B. Kaiser of Memphis; a daughter, Mrs. John Millard Jr. of Memphis, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park.
