From Hinsey Brown Obituary: A 1974 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Troy worked for Dan’s Auto Ranch and Red’s Auto Body in New Castle. He then worked as a machinist for Nuturn and Ferodo America until becoming employed with Guide Lamp in Anderson. He was presently employed with General Motors in Kansas City, MO. He was a past member of the Eagles, New Castle and was a member of the UAW. An avid motorcyclist, he rode his Harley Davidson all over the country, including to Sturgis, ND, Florida, and many other places. He could fix anything, and had a keen understanding of mechanics, learning from his dad when he was a young boy.

Troy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sandy Crabtree of Kansas City, MO; a son, Shane (Heidi) Crabtree of Connersville; two step-daughters, Heather (Micah) Beach of Mooreland and Jennifer Alexander of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Zak, Eilish, Shalei, Phoenix, Shade, Jaret Kamryn, and Carsen; his mother, Betty Crabtree of New Castle; a sister, Sue (Jim) Claar of New Lisbon, Marcia Crabtree (Larry Mogg) of New Castle; brother, Wendell (Mary) Crabtree of Kokomo; several nieces, nephews, an aunt and an uncle.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Crabtree, and a nephew, Jeff Pollitt.
