Gertrude was 84 when she passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at her home located on the outskirts of Poy Sippi.

She was born on July 14, 1922 in the Town of Bloomfield, WI, the daughter of the late Henry and Genevieve (Pitt) Borchardt. On February 18, 1939, Gertrude married Leonard Radtke at Christ Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1985. Gertrude was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. She worked as a seamstress at Truesdale and Nigbor Furs in Berlin for many years. Gertrude enjoyed sewing, cooking and being with her family.

Gertrude is survived by a daughter, Drenda Paulsen, a son, Duane Radtke, five grandchildren, Michele Farnsworth, Kristine Johnson, Melissa Cassidy, Dylon Radtke, Eric Paulsen, along with 14 great-grandchildren, Aaron, Caitlin, Kieran, Michael, Derek, Amber, Sam, Colleen, Dakota, Tessandra, Brennan, Jacob, Stephanie and Krista, a great-great-granddaughter, Kaylan, a brother, Arden (Marilyn) Borchardt, Neenah, a sister, Clarice Kempf, West Bloomfield, two sisters-in-law, Jackie Borchardt, West Bloomfield and Sadie Borchardt, Menasha.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. Rev. Christopher Navurskis officiated.
