HERBERT PLUNKETT DIES; RITES SATURDAY
Herbert W. Plunkett, 73, of 644 E. Grand Ave. died at 9:10 pm Tuesday at Decatur and Macon County Hospital.
He had been a Decatur resident most of his life. He was born Jan 22, 1894 in Holdridge, Neb., a son of Royal E. and Mary Huffacker Plunkett.
Mr Plunkett was a retired self employed truck driver. He was a member of the Central Church of God.
He married, Eva Morris, March 5, 1915 in Decatur. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1965.
Mr Plunkett leaves his wife; seven daughters, Mrs Edward (Gwendolyn) Hall, Mrs C.D. (Maxine) Goodman, Mrs Charles (Jean) Moody, Mrs Earl (Barbara) Waymire and Mrs Raymond (Eloise) Daugherty Jr., all of Decatur; Mrs Fred (Alberta) Pedigo, Bartonsville, Ill.; Mrs Howard (Betty) Sheets Jr., Maroa; brother, Robert of Alhambra, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs William (Jessie) Pinkney, and Mrs Bessie Morton, both of Decatur; Mrs Inez Sullivan, Honolulu, Hawaii.
He also leaves 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
