The son of the late Joseph and Erminia (nee Cavalier) Cook, Angelo was born in Elmer, NJ and was a lifelong area resident. He had lived in Stow Creek Township for over 50 years before relocating to Bridgeton. Angelo and his wife Doris (nee Murray) were the founders of Cook's Cleaners on Shiloh Pike in Stow Creek in 1958. They owned and operated the cleaners until retiring.
Prior to establishing his business, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, proudly serving in the 3rd Army in the European Theater. Upon returning home, he married Doris and they enjoyed their lives together for over 50 years until her passing in 1998. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Lee Cook, his daughter, Donna S. Karol, his brothers, Leonard, Nick, Tony, Sam and Joe Cook, his sisters, Mary Mattson and Virginia Griedus, a sister-in-law, Gladys (Murray) Hundt and a brother-in-law, William Murray.
Angelo enjoyed watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees who he followed passionately since the 1930's.
He is survived by daughters; Judy A. Dolson, Sandy K. Carsten and her husband Steven; son, William L. Cook and his wife Nancy; daughter-in-law, Sue (Turner) Cook and a son-in-law, Steven Karol, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning , June 20th at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton.
Visitors will be received beginning at 9 o’clock with the funeral service starting at 11.
The interment with military honors will be made at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
