One April we heard noises coming from a box of Christmas decorations. When we looked we saw a gray momma cat with 4 little kittens. The momma cat wasn't our cat but we brought her inside the house with her babies. On baby, Little Claws, died very shortly thereafter. When we checked the kittens we noticed one cat had her throat cut open by a broken Christmas ornament. We rushed her to the vet where the vet sewed up the cut with stitches. This is how she got her name Stitches. Stitches was the Queen of the house. She put up with nothing. If a dog came near her she smacked them and the dogs would never bug her again. We would say "get the cat" to our dogs and they would run right past Stitches not giving it a thought Stitches was the cat. Stitches would also lay out in the street of the court we lived on and when a car came she continued to lay there with a look that says "I'm not moving." The neighbors would go around her. Stitches lived into her 20th birthday.
