FEICHT, G eorge H. Age 84 of Madison Twp. passed away in Bethesda North Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 10:42AM. He was born in Coke Otto, Ohio on April 1, 1922, the son of Albert and Catherine (Stang) Feicht. George enlisted in the Navy on August 26, 1940 at Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Chicago, Illinois. He served on the USS Yorktown prior to the Attack on Pearl Harbor. Transferred to the USS Enterprise, he was working with Admiral William Halsey's boat crew on Ford Island when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941. Surviving the attack and later joined with his crew on the USS Enterprise as a Boatswain Mate 2nd class, George fought honorably in the Marshall and Gilbert Island Raids, Marcus Island Raid, the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, and the battle of Midway. His awards include the Navy Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, American Campaign, AP Campaign, American Defense Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the Pearl Harbor 50th Anniversary Medal. He was honorably discharged on August 26th, 1946. He was employed in the Transportation-Locomotive Repair Dept. at Armco Steel, Hamilton Plant for thirty-six years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Trenton Church of the Nazarene for forty-nine years serving on the board for many years. On June 8, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was married to Helen Avery and she preceded him in death in 2003. He is survived by two sons, Jerry (Nancy) Feicht of Middletown and Thomas (Robin) Feicht of Trenton; seven grandchildren, Kelli (Chris) Gibson, Daniel Pabst, Jerri Lynn (Anthony) Hollon, Ryan Lynn Feicht, Rachel Feicht, Sarah Feicht and Leah Feicht, also eighteen great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin sons, John and James; an infant daughter and five sisters, Katie Waller, Ruth Rose, Alice McGill, Marie Glover and Louise Stahley. Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave. on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 10AM with Rev. Don Stahl, Associate Pastor of the Trenton Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3PM to 6PM. The family would like to express their gratitude to Home Health Care Nurse, Bridgett Barrett and Dr. Monica G. Hunter.
