McGINN, David John
Pittsfield Twp., MI
Age 61

Died Friday, March 17, 2017 at his residence with his loving family surrounding him. Dave was born March 8, 1956, the son of Francis (Mac) and Dorothy (Heckethorne) McGinn in Youngstown, Ohio. He was raised in Columbus, Ohio, with his older brother... (now married to Texas sweetest woman ...).

He attended the Ohio State University before being called by God to move to Ann Arbor to join the Word of God Christian Community. Here he met and made many loyal and lifelong friends. Dave earned his degree in pharmacy at the University of Michigan. Even though he was a Michigan alumnus, he remained a true Buckeye at heart. Dave also met and married his wife, Irene (Morath) in community. Their union was blessed with three beautiful children... Dave deeply loved and was intensely proud of all of them. The girls have both earned their Masters Degrees and (his son) has become a loyal Spartan, and is in the process of earning his Masters at Kettering University. Dave was blessed to be able to walk both his daughters down the aisle at their weddings and was happy to add (2 son-in-laws) to his family. He also has been blessed to hold his first grandchild...

As a Pharmacist, Dave cared deeply about the patients he served and went on to become a Board Certified Nutrition Pharmacist to increase his usefulness to them. His last position was at Ann Arbor Home Infusion at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, where he worked with a talented and very generous group of coworkers.

Dave was known for loving to laugh and making those around him laugh, as well as being remembered for his love of Ohio State Football and the Detroit Red Wings. He also was a man of deep quiet wisdom. He was loyal to those he loved and strove to give them his best. He was a son, brother, Pharmacist, husband, uncle, father, godfather, grandfather, coworker and friend. First and foremost, he was a man of intense faith who loved God and spent his life in His service. Now he is home face to face with a loving father.

Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 Ave Maria Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48105 with Fr. Ed Fride as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Ypsilanti, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Hope Clinic, 518 Harriet St., Ypsilanti 48197. Envelopes will be available at the Church where the family will receive friends Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
