George Franklin Head of Macon, GA passed from this life to his eternal reward on August 12, 2016. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, at Stone Edge Church in Macon with Rev. Joey Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Born on November 6, 1929 in Monroe County, GA, he was a graduate of Mary Persons High School, served in the United States Army and graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed for many years with Georgia Power Company and was a Senior Vice President at the time of his retirement. In 2001 he and his late wife Jean became founding members and residents of Carlyle Place in Macon, GA. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jean Morton Head.

He is survived by his brother Emory L. Head of Hendersonville, NC. His niece Carolyn Moseley of Macon, his nephews George G. Head (Robin) of Juliette, Henry L. Head (Lisa) of Canton, special friends Larry and Marsha Freeman of Smyrna, his goddaughters Katie Freeman Wasserman (Peter) and Brittany Freeman both of Smyrna, a host of great nieces and nephews and great great-nieces and nephews.
