Oliver Ballard, GySgt. USMC (Ret.), age 87 of Williamsburg, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.

He was born on May 22, 1929 in Nashville, Tennessee, son of
Joseph Wolfenbarger and Adeline "Addie" Eldridge Ballard)

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Reva (Powers) Ballard.

Oliver served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years. He was drafted during the Korean Conflict, served two tours in Vietnam and served in several other campaigns.

He is survived by two sons, Michael L. Ballard and wife Mary of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Jerry P. Ballard and wife Terri of Williamsburg; two daughters, Gail L. Bordes and her husband Mike and Karen R. Wilson and husband Donnie, all of Williamsburg; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; special friend, Imogene Jones of Williamsburg; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. July 6, 2016 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Lester officiating. He will be laid to rest following Military Graveside Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #88 of Corbin in the Ballard Family Cemetery.
