William Thompson Martin died at the age of 45. He was married to Edna Alline "Allie" McKamie Martin Rogers of Stamps, Falcon, Bodcaw, & Texarkana, AR. Her (DOB: Mar 1, 1900; DOD: Jun 11,1964). They had 5 known children together: William Thompson Martin Jr., Emma Lucille Martin Jackson, Lillie Mae Martin Starnes, Herschel Victoria Martin, and Nolan Thomas Martin. Billie was originally from a small town in Linden, Perry County, Tennessee. He was on the Cherokee Rolls. His usual occupation was a "Shoe Maker, and Repairman". His father was John Watson Cantrell Martin of TN., and his mother was Blanche Pierce of TN. In his younger days his father was a Wagoneer, and later on in his life his father was a "Shoe Maker who owned his own shop". His grandparents were Rufus, and Amanda Thompson Martin. Blanche's parents were George Washington Pierce, and his wife Susan. William Thompson Martin was a twin, and his twin brother's name was George. George was also a Shoe Maker, and Repairman. There were about 10 known children in Billie's family including him. Some of his siblings were: Edward C., John W., Amanda C., George, Richard, Nora Blanche (married name Horne of Prairie, TN.; in later years residing in Pine Bluff, AR.), Lillie Mae , Arnett, and Watts. He has lived in many places throughout AR. (Texarkana, Bodcaw, Stamps, LaFayette, Lewisville, & Pine Bluff). He was working for the Bodcaw Lumber Co. as a laborer in 1918. He had blue eyes & black hair, medium height, and medium build. He died in the hospital in Idabel, McCurtain Co., Oklahoma (a tragic death). For more information see his obituary in the Texarkana Gazette on Mon. Aug. 27, 1945. Sadly, it is important (when explaining his life story) to note (with all due respect) that due to adverse circumstances, William Thompson Martin had a drinking problem. This helps to explain some of the tragic things that happened in his life, and in his family member's lives. The stories that my mother, (his grand-daughter) passed down to me were so sad, and disturbing that I decided that I hated alcohol, and everything that had to do with it. I vowed to never touch it. I have never drank in my entire life, and I never will! My own immediate family has taken that vow too. Praise God! Billie's wife, some of his children, and a grandchild (Edna Francine Elliot) are buried in Old Rondo Cemetery in Texarkana, AR. Some of his relatives are said to be buried in Patmos, AR. He is buried in Wooten Springs Cemetery in Texarkana not far from his son Nolan Thomas Martin, who is also buried there.

William "Billie" Thompson Martin was said to be extremely handsome. He had blue eyes, black hair, medium height, and medium build according to his military registration card dated Sept. 12, 1918 - in Lewisville, AR. Blanche Pierce was listed as his mother who at that time resided in Stamps, LaFayette Co., AR.
