Robert W. Assenmacher was born in Dearborn, Michigan on June 4, 1925 and died at Tuscon, Arizona on February 23, 2000. He was the son of Mathias and Katherine (Theisen) Assenmacher. He lived in Monroe County since 1929. On July 19, 1947, Robert married Elizabeth (Beth Ann) Wess at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Monroe, Monroe County, Michigan. Robert moved to Arizona in the 1960's, and worked for his son, and volunteered at the Goodwill Industries in Tucson. Robert was always an outdoors man, and enjoyed baseball, once playing for the Monroe Twilight League.

Robert was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters, all of Arizona.

A memorial service was held in Arizona on February 26, 2000, and then at St. John Catholic Church, Monroe, Michigan on Tuesday March 7, 2000, and then at St. Michael Catholic Church at 8:15 am, on March 14, 2000.

Cremation was by Adair Funeral Home in Arizona.
