Mrs. Eloise D. Baker -Savannah- On Tuesday October 3, 2006 an angel tiptoed softly into the home of Mrs. Eloise D. Baker and guided her home to be with her heavenly father. Eloise was born to the late Joseph and Matilda G. Brown on April 13, 1928. She was raised in Hilton Head SC along with her two siblings surviving sisters Pauline Holmes of Hilton Head, SC and the late Richard Green Sr. She was a 1947 graduate of Mather High School in Beaufort SC. After graduation she moved to Savannah, GA where she met the late Mr. Joseph A. Baker Jr., whom she was united in holy matrimony on October 1, 1952. Together they raised one son Joseph A. Baker III of Savannah, GA. She was employed with the Chatham County School System as a cafeteria manager until she retired in 1990. She was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess as well as an active member of the Usher Broad. As a loving sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she devoted her life to serving and blessing others. She had infinite faith in God and his plan and was not afraid to share her faith with all. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
