FATHER HUEBSCH OF LOMA RETIRES; NOTED AS WRITER
Rev. Arthur A. Huebsch, Loma pastor and " retired . college professor, retired from active work after spending ten years in the diocese of Lincoln. In 1929, Bishop Beckman invited Dr. Huebsch, re tired New York professor, to come to the Lincoln diocese to aid in the Bohemian speaking parishes in the vicinity of Lincoln. His first pastorate was at Bee, where he remained more than eight years, and then went to Loma. Ordained forty years ago, Dr. Huebsch was a prolific writer, publishing more than 80 books and pamphlets on philological, literary, and philosophical subjects in English, Latin, Italian, German, Croatian, and Hungarian. Ten of his latest books, including three volumes of poetry . and his nationally acclaimed "Theory of Art" (1937) were published at Seward. Dr. Huebsch will take an extended European tour and then make his home on his estate near New York City, where he will soon celebrate his 65th birthday.
