Born in Tennessee, the eldest of three boys, born to Isaac Newton Coburn, and Amanda Elizabeth Short.

Was a fireman, on the railroad, in Ft Dodge, Iowa. There he met the Daughter of a co worker and fell in love. Married 25 Sept 1902

They had two children, Elbert Leigh and Isabel Madeline. T

His second wife was Lula Luetze.

Bascomb was a great help to his Daughter Isabel, helping to raise her four Daughters during the depression years. He was a God loving Man, and a blessing to his family.
