The Salem Primitive Baptist Cemetery is located behind the Olive Branch Methodist Church Cemetery in Eaton/Hickory Grove Tennessee. The two churches stood close together at one point, but the Salem Church was destroyed. When looking for your relatives in the African American Cemetery part at Olive Branch Church on the Trenton Eaton Road, walk through the white cemetery until you see remnants of a fence. The two churches had arranged a location for burial of African Americans to the rear. So it appears as one large cemetery. It's two cemeteries. Note heavy erosion has harmed part of the cemetery and there are perhaps 50 unknown burials due to evidence in trenches. The site was not probed for buried tombstones but should be. The site is on the south side of the Trenton Eaton Road about half way between Hickory Grove and Eaton. It is highly likely this cemetery was started by the McLin/McLinn family who were enslaved on the Harwood place, less than one mile east of Olive Branch. A few of Godfrey McLin's children are buried in the Salem Primitive Baptist Cemetery
