RIP Uncle - Attached marriage records show he married Willie Mae Tucker on February 1, 1943. An unexpected record shows he married Lila Lee Pelton on September 2, 1944. No record has surfaced if he divorced Willie Mae or the marriage was annulled. Further, a subsequent divorce or annulment record has not surfaced for Lila Lee. However, she did subsequently marry an UNKNOWN Hobling man as evidence of her 1961 marriage to Charles E. Castleman. There is not a subsequent marriage record between Gene and Willie Mae. Gene's oldest son Jimmy was born March 1944. Equally, puzzling Nick Alvin Hobling was born in 1944 (one source cites October and another June).
