Lonny, I remember, that day! I was supposed to be, on that chopper with you, but at the last minute, the XO., changed me, from the 2nd, chopper, to the first. I watched your chopper, come in and watched, almost in awe, that the external cargo net, loaded, with 5, pallets, of 105MM, howitzer ammo, caught the top, of the tree and flung the chopper, on her side, down, the steep hill. We were all broken hearted, we lost about 20, of the 25, members, of the crew and passengers. I lost two, very close friends that day, all that makes any sense, at all, is to know that God, is God. Though He slay me, yet will I trust, in Him. Blessings to all, who lost him and to heaven, who received him. Cpl., Steve Grable, Former Marine.

Lonnie gave it all for the United States of America.

He was from "West By God Virginia"!
