Julia Arretta (Landrith) Brannon's grandparents were John L. and Elizabeth (Chambers) Landrith and James "Jim" Joseph and Margaret Ann "Peggy" (Hensley) Flatt. Her parents were James Herman and Martha Aretta (Flatt) Landrith.
Research is ongoing but it is currently believed that Dr. and Mrs. Brannon had six children, three daughters, Edna (who did not live to adulthood), Frances Lenore (Brannon) Todd Spruiell, deceased (1991), and Ora Venere (Brannon) Estes, deceased (2016), and three sons, Homer (died in infancy), Cecil and Lloyd, both deceased (2001 and 2007, respectively).
As the second daughter of Frances Lenore, my mother - Bennie Catherine (Todd) Sanner - knew and loved Julia as "Mamaw Brannon." In the summers when my mother was a little girl and on break from school, she loved visiting her Mamaw Brannon in Ada. She would take my mother over to her friends' houses where my mother would stay on the front porch with crayons and paper and color while her grandmother smoked cigars and played cards with friends inside. My mother loved listening to her grandmother and the other ladies laughing and having a good time. My mother was 25 years old when her grandmother, Julia Aretta Landrith Brannon died.
Julia was known for always saying that she "didnt have an ugly one in the bunch!"
