Nina Jean Abernathy, 82, passed away May 27, 2014, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born May 30, 1931, in Oklahoma City to Neva H. and Clarence B. Breithaupt.
Nina graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1949 and University of Oklahoma in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in education. She was an active member and alumni in the Delta Gamma sorority. She was also a board member of the Anchor Center School for the Blind in Denver, CO.
Nina was preceded in her death by her parents; and husband, Wayne Abernathy. She is survived by her son, Steve Abernathy; daughter, Lynne Kauppila; daughter-in-law, Donna Abernathy; and grandchildren, Bret Kauppila, Taylor Kauppila, Nicole Abernathy, and Julie Abernathy.
Memorial Ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
