Death of Mrs. Bennett

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Bennett, 67, wife of John Bennett, died at her home on Second street Sunday morning after a several months illness. She was a native of Cornwall, England and had lived in this country for 23 years. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, John Bennett of this town and William Bennett of Peabody, and three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Williams and Mrs. Sidney Sewall [sic] of Turners Falls and Mrs. Thomas Jenkin of New York, also two brothers, David Rosewarne of Topeka, Kan., and John Rosewarne of this town. Several grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held from her late home yesterday afternoon, Rev. F.W. French of the Baptist church officiating. Interment was in Springdale cemetery.

Elizabeth Jane Rosewarne married John Thomas Trenouth/Trenoweth Bennett on February 24th, 1867 "by certificate" witnessed by Edward and Richard Scobey, and again on April 5th, 1870, at the Register's Office in Penzance, Cornwall.

Elizabeth gave birth to a daughter with John Thomas Trenouth Bennett, on February 10, 1872, that child Mary Ellen Bennett was born in Penzance, Cornwall, England.

Elizabeth passed away on October 12, 1913, in Montague City, MA., at the age of 67.
