Dr. James David Gandee, 67, of Buckhannon, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, after a long illness.

Dave was born Aug. 28, 1946, in Charleston, and was greeted in Heaven by his loving parents, John Dalton Gandee and Virginia Frances Bird, along with his loving sister, Deanna Kaye Skeens.

He is survived by his daughters, Deanna "Dee" Gandee and Jennifer Marie Gandee of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law, Dorman Skeens; and nephew, Jeffrey Allen Skeens and his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Andrew, Emma and Kate Skeens of Charleston.

Dave Graduated from West Virginia University Dental School in 1972 and practiced dentistry in Buckhannon for 38 years.

Doc's real passion in life was for hunting and he traveled the world in the pursuit of the "Ultimate Hunt!"

He went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, surrounded by his loving daughters and longtime family friend, Lori Ann Ferguson, who we would like to thank for all of her support, love and care throughout his entire illness. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered!

Dave's funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Clendenin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Matics Funeral Home, Clendenin. A celebration of his life and memory will be held at the Buckhannon Moose Lodge in Buckhannon in the next week.
