Donald Ray Gunter, age 69, of Greeneville, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his home. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere, IL. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Gunter was a member of UAW No. 1268 and Ridge Runners Car Club. His hobby was restoring antique cars.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Christine Bishop Gunter; two daughters, Tracie Gunter Wilson and Stacey Kesterson; four grandchildren, Ashley Huss, Cheyanne Kesterson and Curtis Dotson, Shayne Kesterson and Michelle Hurley; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Huss and Ryan Suggs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine Keith, Marjorie and Alton Bradley, Wilma and Harold Ricker, Joy Rader Nunnally and her husband Bill and Linda Sweat; brother and sister-in-law, John "Buck" and Sandy Gunter; sister in law, Louise Gunter; brother-in-law, Jimmy Dean Coffey; six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Pat Bishop, Billy and Zoe Bishop, Ray and Joann Bishop, Bobby Bishop, J.C. and Sandy Bishop and Janice and Jeff Wilburn; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Dolphus Cutshaw and Martha Bishop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley "Jam" and Ruby Gunter; brother, Claude "Junior" Gunter; sisters Marlene Coffey and Debra Gunter; and a great grandson, John Cameron "J.C" Hurley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Sunday in the chapel of Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Buford Metcalf officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Sunday preceding the funeral service. Friends and family are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:00 pm Monday to go in procession to Harris Memorial Cemetery for the 3:00 pm graveside service.

Active pallbearers will be his nephews and Shayne Kesterson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Ridge Runners Car Club.
