Funeral services celebrating the life of Irble Sasser Landrum Lippe will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, Alexandria with Reverend Donnie Wilkinson, Dr. Henry C. Blount and Reverend Carolyn Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.

The family asks that visitation be observed Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Alexandria from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue Sunday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Pallbearers honored to serve are William McMichael, Jacob McMichael, Todd McMichael, Marshall O'Connor, Willie Williamson, Andrew O'Neal, David Campbell and Patrick Washburn.

Mrs. Lippe, 95, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at her residence.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Alexandria, the 50/50 Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She attended Louisiana College, Pineville and Northwestern State University, Natchitoches where she was in the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. During her working career she was an elementary school teacher at Buckeye Elementary School, Deville and L. S. Rugg Elementary School, Alexandria.

As an active member of our community, Mrs. Lippe was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - J. T. Charnley Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, Iris Garden Club, Caladium Club and NARFE. She also served as a volunteer at Friendship House, the Alexandria Museum of Art and was a "Pink Lady" at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Marshall Landrum and Edgar Lippe; daughters, Sally Landrum Sewell and Peggy Landrum McCartney; parents, Joseph and Tenie Deville Sasser; sisters, Hazel Sasser O'Neal and Joda Sasser Bennett.

Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Kathy Craig, Kellee O'Connor, Kim Williamson, Kristi McMichael, Billy Sewell and Julie Sewell Normand; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sister, Mary Sasser Campbell and a host of other family members and friends.
