James Renfro Gragg, Jr., 66, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Pineville on July 15, 1947, the son of the late James Renfro, Sr. and Dorothy Bowman Gragg. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had worked for the Pineville Water Company for many years. Jimmy was active in Rotary Club and the Pineville Athletic Booster Club and had served on the Pineville School Board for many years. He had been an assistance football Coach for the Pineville Elementary for several years. He was very active in the community and will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Survivors include his special friend, Sharon Philpot, her son, Larry Dean Philpot, Cameron, whom he loved as a son; grandchildren, Tiffany Michelle, Haley Danielle and Michael Thomas; great-grandchild, Payton and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Information
Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ron Suntken. Burial will be in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Gragg family. Light a virtual candle and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
