Obituary:

MACON - Fred Bumgardner, 85, died Saturday, June 3, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 10A.M. Tuesday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park. Dr. Otis Andrews and Dr. Neal Wall will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bumgardner was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and had lived in Macon since 1967. He was retired from R.A.F.B. and was a member of Glenwood Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Bumgardner also taught Sunday School for the Macon Fire Department at Stations #5 and 7 for thirty-five plus years, where he was highly respected and dearly loved by the firefighters. He was the widower of Bonnie Jean Bottoms Bumgardner.

Mr. Bumgardner is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Delores Bumgardner of Macon; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and William Stead of Merritt Island, FL; two grandchildren, Vance Bumgardner of Macon and Ashleigh Merriman of Orlando, FL; two sisters.
