Hester "Genevieve" (Kress) Lucas, 89, of Jasonville, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 at Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan. Born April 17, 1916 in Clay County, she was the daughter of Leslie Leonard and May (Mullens) Kress. On April 8, 1934, she married Harley F. Lucas. He passed away Oct. 12, 2001. She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist Church.

House, a granddaughter June Kay Cliff, a great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Rose Wetnight, and two sons-in-law, Eldon Lee Jackson and James Cliff, Sr. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville, with the Rev. Harold Thomas and Pastor Bob Dickey officiating. Burial will be at Friendly Grove Cemetery at Lewis.
