Elizabeth Carter, 91, 526 S. Seventh Street, died Saturday at 2:20 p.m. at Community Hospital.
Mrs. Carter was a retired teacher at the Mayfield School System having taught from 1924 until 1972; a member of the First Baptist Church; a graduate of Murray State Teacher's College; and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
Survivors include two nephews, several great nieces and nephew; several great-great-neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Bettie Thomas Carter.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield with Harvey Lynn Elder officiating. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Houston McDonald, W.H. Lancaster, George Cook, Chan Routen, George Covington and Jerry Carter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lon Carter Barton and C. A. Byrn.
Visitation will be Wednesday between 6 p.m and 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Living Christmas Tree at the First Baptist Church of Mayfield.

Ms. Carter is survived by two nephews, Herbert Carter of Greenville, N.C., and Morris Carter of Urbana, Ill.; three great-nieces, one great-nephew, several great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews.
Her parents were A. J. and Bettie Thomas Carter.
Friends may call at Byrn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
