From the LaFollette Press, Thursday, December 14, 1972:

Ledford Cleveland Ford, 62, of Pioneer, Royal Blue Community, died Monday at LaFollette Community Hospital.

He was a member of Red Ash Baptist Church and a retired coal miner.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Ford, Caryville; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Blankenblicker of Caryville and Mrs. Wilma Adkins of LaFollette; two sons, Carl of LaFollette, Clyde of Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio, his mother, Mrs. Annie Ford of LaFollette; three sisters, Della and Evelyn of LaFollette, and Aileen of Ohio; two brothers, Hobert Ford of LaFollette, and James Ford of Michigan; 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Red Ash Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Allen and the Rev. Cecil Perry. Martin's Funeral Home, LaFollette was in charge of arrangements.

Papo passed from a heart attach. Tragic and unexpected loss. He spent his nights working in the Coal Mines and part of his days working in the field working on crops for the winter. After harvesting Papo and Mamo would can everything or with the string beans dry them and thread them on a long sting and hang them on the front porch to dry for easy cooking later.
