Blanche Ponder Gentry, 93, of 1797 Calvin Edney Road, Mars Hill, died Monday, April 25, 2005, at Madison Manor Nursing Center.
She was the daughter of the late Starling Lasalle Ponder and Addie Jane Hamlin Ponder. She was a member of Forks of Ivy Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Ponder.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Green and husband, Edward, of Chicamauga, GA.; granddaughters, Jan Lindsey and husband, Edward, of Rosemark, TN, and Julie Smith and husband, Michael, of Chickamauga, GA.; and great-grandchildren, Chris and Matt Smith and Katie Lindsey.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, in Mars Hill, with the Rev. Charlie Carroway officiating. Burial followed in Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
