Born September 27, 1947, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late George Howard Hayes, Sr. and Florence Betty (Kerstetter) Hayes.
Retired from the Spartanburg County Treasurer's Office after 20 years of faithful service, she was a member of Golightly United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Michael J. West, Matthew J. West, and J. Andrew West, all of the home; three sisters, Winnie H. Greer of Enoree, Sharon H. West and Dawn H. Tucker, both of Spartanburg; a brother, George "Pepper" Hayes, Jr. of Spartanburg; a grandson, Austin, and two granddaughters, Taylor and Bailey, all of Spartanburg.
Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by Pastor Marv Crowe. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials could be made to Golightly United Methodist Church, 2000 Highway 56, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 448 Ransdell Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
