Ruby Beatrice (Millwood) Gunter, 79, of Glendale, SC, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born November 4, 1925, in Whitestone, she was the daughter of the late M. W. (Monk) and Inez (Fowler) Millwood.

A retired textile employee after 40 years of service with Glendale, Arkwright, and Limestone Mills, she was a member of Glendale Baptist Church and the Bible Sunday School Class, and a member of the Eastern Star and Woodmen of the World (WOW).

Survivors include her husband, Arthur L. Gunter of the home; two sons, Bobby Gunter and his wife Robin, and Charles Gunter and his wife Diane, all of Spartanburg; Gladys Easler of Spartanburg, a first cousin but thought of as a sister; five grandsons, Billy, Clay, Will, Chris, and Chucky Gunter, all of Spartanburg; a granddaughter, Jessica Gunter of Spartanburg; and a nephew, Johnny Millwood of the home.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at Glendale Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Johnny Bridges, the Rev. Will Gunter and the Rev. Phil Welchel. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers and Honorary Escort were Deacons of Glendale Baptist Church.
