She is survived by her two daughters, T. Gayle Hamner and Brenda H. and her husband, Frank J. Shimchick; granddaughter, Stephanie J. and her husband, Paul Schmidt; great-grandson, Benjamin Schmidt; and an extended loving family of relatives and dear friends.
She retired several years ago from Wheat First Securities. Mrs. Hamner was a devoted member of Bon Air United Methodist Church, where she actively participated in a wide variety of church programs for over 55 years.
The family will receive friends Thursday (today) from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road. A funeral service will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Bon Air United Methodist Church, 1645 Buford Road, Richmond, Va. 23235. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Air United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060.
